Your art crush just called

What a wonderful feeling… The Wonder Collection is live!

I won’t delay the best part of this email:  your secret discount code to shop the new launch (and every other piece) during the biggest sale of the year:

Wait...did you miss it?!  Be sure to hop on the Studio Vibes email list so you, too, can get the code to your inbox for the next sale.

I’ll pop back in next week with a friendly nudge before it ends, along with a few other book recs and recipes, but for now — go treat yourself. You’ve waited patiently while I painted through Bonnie and her Peppa Pig marathons and early-morning print color tests, and this moment is for you.

Inside My Studio

If you’ve been eyeing something (or mentally designing your gallery wall — we both know you’ve done it), here’s your shortcut shopping list:

  • 🦕 Dinosaurs – loose watercolor magic for those that memorized all the dinosaur names
  • 🦋 Butterflies – light, airy, and full of movement
  • 🌌 Space – a little cosmic calm
  • ⚽ Sports: Icons, Classic, or Tradition combos – sports loved by both boys and girls

Shop them as curated pairs like the ones above or mix-and-match to tell your own story.

And since I’ve learned that sometimes the hardest part of buying art online isn’t the art — it’s everything that comes after — I’ve pulled together a few tried-and-true resources for you:

  • My favorite frames that take these archival prints to designer-level.
  • How to frame your art once that frame arrives.
  • For the DIY-lover: printing tips to get true-to-color results with your digital download (because you deserve buttery smooth hues, not muddy ones).

What I'm Cooking

This week’s weirdly delightful discovery: Samin’s Caesar dressing named after her dog, Fava.

It uses chickpea liquid instead of egg — and somehow tastes just as good as the classic version. As someone who’s been navigating an egg allergy for four years, I nearly cried into my salad with joy.

Even the Sunday dinner crowd approved when I hauled this salad over for our gathering.

Meanwhile, I’m deep in holiday gift plotting. Top contenders: Good Things’s chili crisp or giardiniera, jarred up in cute glass jars with ribbons and tags. If you get one from me… please act surprised.

And tonight? I’m making Samin’s brisket burrito filling as my post-launch exhale. Because when you’ve spent weeks painting, scanning, editing 784(!!!) variants, and uploading? A slow-cooked reward feels earned.

Creative Sparks

Paint Week wrapped, and I got to play with mediums that don’t usually make an appearance in my studio - inks and concentrated watercolors on canvas. It reminded me how freeing it is to make something just for fun.

So here’s your gentle nudge from me to pick up a set of paints (like this one), some paper (my favorite affordable brand), and a brush and go have fun!

And this quote hit home for me this week:

What I'm Reading

I just finished Katherine Center’s newest novel — charmingly cheesy, a solid 3.5/5.

Next up: Mate, because after a big launch, a romantasy cocoon sounds perfect.

For a cozy in-between, I started How Freaking Romantic — short, illustrated, and yes, delightfully cheesy (but we love that).

Coming Up...

I still can’t believe The Wonder Collection is officially live.

It’s been many months of late nights, half-dry paint palettes, and sneaking in brushstrokes between coffee sips…all to bring this collection to the new(ish) website.

✨ Fun upgrade: you can now search by subject or colorway to see what fits your space best. It’s going to make mix-and-matching so fun!

I hope these pieces spark joy and wonder in your home the way they’ve brought joy into mine.
Go explore the collection — and maybe find the one that makes you pause and smile.

I’ll send a little reminder next week before the sale ends + some of my FAVORITE things from 2025 so you can get the rest of your holiday shopping checked off!

With wonder,
Katie
