Your $10 gin fizz moment

This weekend, we had one of those rare unicorn moments: a child-free afternoon out. Naturally, we celebrated the only way two tired parents know how - by showing up to the bar right when it opened. Pick any seat you want, early birds.

I’m a sucker for anything with gin or tequila, so when I saw a gin fizz on the menu, I was sold. The catch? No price listed. Dangerous territory.

If you’ve ever ordered one, you know it’s basically a mini workout for the bartender - shaken for nearly ten minutes. It’s the highest maintenance of cocktails: iconic, but not something everyone’s willing to put on a menu.

Then I noticed the fine print: the first gin fizz of the day is $10, and every one after goes up by $1. By evening, this thing costs $25-$30+.

So yes, obviously I ordered it immediately. The first of the day. My perfectly foamy, fizzy little miracle.

And you know what? This sale I’m sending you is a little like that gin fizz.

It’s your first-of-the-day, best-price, subscriber-only moment - before things get hectic and the pre-holiday rush starts shaking everyone’s sanity (me included).

I wanted to give you the chance to snag your favorites at the best prices now, before Black Friday chaos hits and USPS starts playing fast and loose with delivery times.

Wait...did you miss it?!  Be sure to hop on the Studio Vibes email list so you, too, can get the code to your inbox for the next sale.

There are nine new paintings in the Wonder Collection:
🪐 Two space pieces
🦕 Two dinosaurs
🦋 Two butterfly gardens
🏈 Three sports

And because I can’t stop tweaking things to perfection, I also added new paper options:

🖤 Smooth paper: buttery soft, matte finish, ideal for vivid colors and true-to-original detail — the affordable, archival-quality favorite.
🤍 Watercolor textured paper: 100% cotton, luxe soft white, almost identical to the original paintings. It’s my personal favorite — rich, tactile, and elegant.

Plus, every piece comes in seven colorways, including monochromes that pair with my Safari Jungle Collection, plus new pink, blue, purple, and even inky black tones for a modern edge.

If you’re the DIY type, there’s a digital download option too — perfect for printing yourself or using as custom event art (yes, someone used one for their wedding invites, and I’m still not over it).

Basically, it’s a choose-your-own-art-adventure.
And now you know why I’ve edited what feels like thousands of listings this week. Pardon me while I refill my coffee… ☕

Inside My Studio

What’s next after launch week?

Step one: sleeping past 5 a.m.

Step two: holiday tablecloths.

I’m dreaming up a hand-painted print for our long dinner table — something festive but timeless. Think classic green and red meets tiny reindeer and snowy townhomes. Or maybe a modern toile situation? TBD.

First, though… we rest. (And also panic quietly because how is it already November this weekend?!)

What I'm Cooking

Update: I made Samin’s brisket burrito filling and OH. MY. GOD.
It’s rich, savory, perfectly cheesy — but not over-the-top like a 3 a.m. quesadilla. She described it as “simmer until unctuous,” and now I can’t stop thinking about the word unctuous

It’s pure cozy comfort food — and the perfect excuse to finally grab Samin’s Good Things cookbook if you haven’t yet. I halved the recipe for our family, and it still made enough for leftovers (which disappeared in 24 hours).

On the nights when I don’t want to cook, the menu is delightfully realistic:
🍕 A walk to Domino’s
🥪 Sandwiches with whatever’s left in the fridge
🥦 A grilled protein + broccoli and “house” rice (basmati rice because it’s delicious and cooks up so quickly)
🧀 Or, my favorite — stovetop mac and cheese from one of my favorite cookbooks.

Creative Sparks

After every collection launch, there’s this weird little creative hangover. Like, “Oh cool, I made all the things… now what?”

If you’re in the same boat, let me remind you — rest is part of the process. Creativity always comes back once you’ve let your brain breathe.

My go-to reset routine:

  • Reading something that’s not self-improvement (romance novels are self-care, okay?)
  • Pilates and long walks
  • Cooking something simple but beautiful

While I wait for new inspiration to spark, here are a few tried-and-true favorites that might also jumpstart your holiday gift list:

🍷 This wine club takes the guesswork out of finding good bottles within budget.
📖 This Kindle holder + remote setup? Lazy reading perfection.
💅 This quick-dry polish gives an effortless buffed look when I have zero time.
🍳 These kitchen utensils are a workhorse — especially this one.
👟 And these no-tie sneakers are the real MVP for school runs and errands. (I’m on pair #5 AND they offer wide sizing.)

What I'm Reading

If you’ve been waiting to grab a print from the Wonder Collection, this is your $10 gin fizz moment.

It’s rare, it’s special, and it’s gone at midnight.

Thank you, truly, for being here, for reading, and for cheering me on as I paint my heart out and share it with the world. Here’s to cozy corners, meaningful art, and finding a little wonder wherever you can.

With gratitude and caffeine,
Katie
